Atualmente, com o avanço da tecnologia e de pesquisas, os marcadores moleculares ganharam notoriedade no âmbito judicial, seja para elucidação de um crime ou para estabelecer a relação de parentesco entre pessoas. A identificação humana por DNA se tornou um dos métodos mais utilizados. Sua alta especificidade e confiabilidade são características imprescindíveis, e apresenta poucas desvantagens, desde que os procedimentos sejam corretamente realizados. Portanto, torna-se possível estabelecer relação entre um acusado e uma cena de crime, assim como a relação de paternidade entre o suposto pai e filho. O que tornou os processos judiciais mais ágeis e eficazes.

ABSTRACT
Currently, with the advancement of technology and research, molecular markers have gained notoriety under judicial processes, whether for elucidation of a crime or to establish the relation between people. Human identification by DNA became one of the most used methods. Its high specificity and reliability are indispensable features, and presents few drawbacks, since the procedures are properly carried out. Therefore, it becomes possible to establish relationship between a defendant and a crime scene, as well as the relationship of paternity between the alleged father and son. This made the judicial processes more agile and effective.
