Sofrimento Psíquico da Equipe de Enfermagem no Processo Morte e Morrer da Criança Oncológica

Resumo: O presente estudo trata-se de uma revisão bibliográfica com objetivo de identificar o sofrimento psíquico dos enfermeiros que trabalham na assistência do processo de morte e morrer da criança com doença oncológica. Descrever as fases do processo de morte e morrer, avaliar seu impacto no contexto familiar e demonstrar estratégias do enfrentamento do sofrimento psíquico do enfermeiro. Embora a literatura atual privilegie a abordagem do sofrimento em pacientes e familiares diante da morte da criança com doença oncológica, este estudo evidenciou em outra dimensão que a experiência vivida pelos profissionais no seu cotidiano com a morte dos pacientes que estão sob seus cuidados, causa grande impacto na identidade profissional da equipe e os leva ao sofrimento psíquico devido ao grande comprometimento com suas funções e o envolvimento com pacientes e familiares. Estes profissionais estão susceptíveis a respostas psicossomáticas e até afastamento temporário do trabalho para tratamento adequado, quando são lançados ao sofrimento psíquico e ao sentimento de perda, durante o exercício de suas funções. É possível identificar nesta pesquisa que a dificuldade que os profissionais ainda encontram quando se trata da morte dos seus pacientes, está diretamente aliada à falta de discussão e reflexão sobre o tema durante a formação acadêmica, dando a impressão que somente o estabelecimento da saúde será bem sucedido, o que pode levar o profissional a entender que o cuidado prestado foi em vão, nutrindo o sentimento de perda, luto e até mesmo fracasso por não conseguir restabelecer a saúde do paciente.

Abstract: The present study is a bibliographical review aiming to identify the psychological suffering of nurses working in the assistance of the process of death and dying of the child with oncological disease, to describe the phases of the death and dying process, to evaluate this impact in the family context, and to demonstrate strategies of the psychic suffering of the nurse. Although the current literature favors the approach of suffering in patients and families in the face of the death of the child with cancer, this study has shown in another dimension that the experience experienced by the professionals in their daily lives with the death of patients under their care causes great impact on the professional identity of the team, and leads them to psychic suffering to the great commitment to their functions and the involvement with patients and their families. These professionals are susceptible to psychosomatic responses and even temporary withdrawal from work for appropriate treatment, when they are thrown into psychic suffering and loss of feeling during the exercise of their functions. It is possible to identify in this research that the difficulty that professionals still find youself when it comes to the death of their patients, is directly allied to the lack of discussion and reflection on the subject during the academic formation, giving the impression that only the establishment of health will be successful, which may lead the professional to understand that the care provided was in vain, nourishing the feeling of loss, mourning, and even failure for not being able to restore the patient's health.
